There are three main requirements to run Aestiva Leave Request:
1. You need a copy of Aestiva HTML/OS for your server platform.
1. (HTML/OS runtime edition is included with purchase)
2. You need a Web server account.
3. You need an active cgi-bin in the account.
Aestiva HTML/OS runs on in-house servers, shared hosting accounts,
and co-located servers. Requirements for operating on intranets, shared accounts, and co-located (dedicated) servers are described below.

OPERATING AESTIVA LEAVE REQUEST ON INTRANETS
|
If you are running your own server (Linux, MacOS X, Windows NT/2000/2003, etc) then you can run Aestiva Leave Request.
You will also need a Web server. Use any CGI 1.1 compliant Web server (such as Apache, or IIS). Once your Web server is set up you can install Aestiva HTML/OS, the engine that runs Aestiva Leave Request. No database engine is needed since Aestiva HTML/OS includes a maintenance-free, high-performance
database engine. Once HTML/OS is installed other components are
added using the browser-interface built into HTML/OS.
No additional software or hardware is needed. No additional RAM is needed.

|
OPERATING AESTIVA LEAVE REQUEST ON SHARED ACCOUNTS |
If you wish to run Aestiva Leave Request on a shared account at a hosting provider that provides CGI access, then you will most likely be able to run it. If you
need help checking whether a hosting provider supports CGI access, ask your
Aestiva sales representative to help you.
Installing Aestiva HTML/OS does not require any server configuration and in general, no communication or support from your server administrator or hosting provider.
|
The HTML/OS engine can operate fine with as little as eight (8) Megabytes of RAM. Virtual hosting accounts rarely place limits below this level so if you are operating at a virtual hosting account, it is unlikely you will run into RAM limitation problems.
|
We recommend you operate in accounts with at least 100 Megabytes of space.
|
Aestiva HTML/OS has built-in cgiwrap to protect hosting providers, built-in security so users of Aestiva Leave Request cannot access other parts of the web server, and low CPU overhead to ensure CPU resources are not overused.
|
|
OPERATING AESTIVA LEAVE REQUEST ON CO-LOCATED WEB SERVERS
|
If you are running a co-located web server then you can operate Aestiva Leave Request.
Most co-located web servers come pre-installed with an active CGI 1.1 compliant web server (Such as Apache, IIS, Netscape Enterprise, etc.). No additional software or hardware is needed. No additional RAM is needed.
